F-body Info Database

hey gang,
we have started working on getting my collection of f-body print material scanned in so that we can get a research data base put up in the fall.
what iwe are looking to do is collect print ads, original new car reviews, and original owners manuals to scan in and have available for download.
if anyone has any thing like this that they would care to donate to the cause let me know.
there is also a consideration of tv commercials if we can find high quality copies to post up.
we will also try our best to get accurate production figures and some good rpo/vin/portecto plate decoders.

thanks
tim

I've got the 1988 GM Service Manual for Firebird. Its over 1000 pages thick so scanning will be best saved for torturing someone.

Also have a few TV ads from various websites. I think the quality is ok for all of them. One I know isnt complete though.

I have a whole bunch of documents and web links for starting a car business in NJ. All the hard copy stuff went to HardcoreZ28.

I have the Complete Buyers Guide of Firebirds. Its a color book that profiles every year of the Firebird and Trans am, all of the options and codes, from 68-02.

Haynes manual for 3rd gen Firebirds.

I don't own a scanner otherwise I would volunteer to start scanning this stuff in. I'll need the tech manuals through August when I'll hopefully have the engine swap done and the car running. After that, anyone who wants to scan it in, is free to come pick them up or I can bring it to a meet that I actually get a chnce to attend.

I have a few vids. One is of the 1987 Motor Trend review of teh 350 IROC and Z28 Vert.
I also have a commercial for either a 85 or 86 Camaro which shows all models, and shows the IROC.
I also have a commercial that shows the new 1982 Camaro and 1982 Firebird and Pontiac line up.
I have a 1987 Camaro sales book, and owners manual.

If you want to mail me the CD, that would be great. And just to let you know, we have 20GB of storage and 400GB of transfer a month to play with now, so that won't be too much of an issue.

Yea its just the Firebird/Trans Am one not the Camaro but I am sure I could find that one too if I look hard enough. But man when I originally dl'ed this one I didnt realize it was 600mb it took me like 20 mins but hey its worth it once you get it.

i've got two copies of printed material for 1987 and 1969 from the chevrolet customer assitance center that you could scan in, if you want. they contain all of the specifications for those years, camaro, and when i say specs i mean specs down to the bolts used. they have been unbelievable resources in my quest to bring these cars back to factory spec. of course the '87 took a detour, but the '69 is getting there slowly but surely. they also contain all of the RPO codes available for each year.

as for production numbers, i have been using "camaro" by james a. dietzler. he seems fairly close in his numbers. he lists a bunch of books in the back as additional resources, perhaps where he accumulated his data, plus the production stats including prices.

i have a mini-chilton's for 1982-1988, repair manual pn 7317. looks like it was a library book that was replaced as inside the front cover it's stamped "discard".

i also have an original sales brochure for 1987.

let me know what, if any, you need for your database.
