cooling fan

i need to know what sensor controls the coolant fan and were it is located on a tbi 305

on the cyl head, the bronze sensor with only one wire going to it. thats the fan switch, if its faulty, most of the time the fan will stay on all the time. (same effect as unplugging it) the other sensor in the manifold by the tstat housing has two wires, its for the gauge itself.

the switch will be on the pass side head on a 305 tbi car.
