Civic Adventures, a must read

I know a handful of people personally that own either a Honda Civic or a Nissan Sentra. But these past two days tops all ricer stories.

Civic Story #1
To make a short story long (lol) theres this kid Ive known all my life. Hes kinda on the slow side of the mental highway. My dad went to school with his uncle who he lives with. Just picture a white "beetlejuice" (from Howard Stern) who impersonates Eminem. Anyway, hes totalled four cars since hes gotten his liscense in 2003. His newer car is a 2003 Honda Civic. And since he lives right down the road from me, I get to drive by his house and laugh at least twice a week for new mods. First it was a Tear Vinyl, which looked like he sideswiped a purple truck. Next was spraypainted green walmart hubcaps on a black civic. Then he removed the Tear Vinyl and put two thick white racing strips. The list goes on and on. Anyway, his last mod was a walmart aluminum spoiler that sits higher than Mt Rushmore. Since my dad talks to his uncle, his uncle was telling him about the next mod... a replacement transmission. Supposidly, this kid told his uncle that the wing added so much downforce that it blew out his transmission!!! I DONT KID, this is no joke. So this kid came to my house and asked if I can sell my gray car to him for payments of like $100 per month (this is the third person that asked that, chirst all i want is $1300 for the ****ing thing). So then hes telling me first hand about all the downforce that blew out his transmission. I nodded and at points I laughed. He didnt think it was funny but I did.

Civic story #2
One of my boys went to jail for possession of marijuana, and several other related charges, for about two weeks. While hes in jail, he called his Mom to take money out of his bank account to make payments on his 99 Honda Civic. WRONG. She never took money out to make the payment, and what he thought was a payment for the month ended up to be paperwork for reposession. He thought she made the payment so he went on with his life. He finally realized that there was no proof of payment so he called the bank. They told him in similar words "Sorry, we already handed in paperwork for reposession." So now, the car is hiding in an undisclosed location. I think this will be a new episode featured on Dog Bounty Hunter.

if the owner of the car goes anywhere near the car, then the hiding was for naught. you can block the car in with another car. just don't ever move the car you are using to block it with. the second that car is moved, the repo man will be there with a wrecker. also, if he can stick it from the side, he will. of course, he can't do damage to either vehicle, but if there is a way he can get to it, he'll get it. they are very tenacious.

when you make a repo man's job harder than it has to be, they get angry. I sure as hell wouldnt want to piss off a repo man, it just seems like a bad idea.

no, but I would imagine pissing off a repo man is not a wise decision. besides, no one likes it when other people make their job harder....I know I dont.

one of my teachers used to be a repo man. he told us some stories from his days on the job.

one guy hid his Porsche in the garage. my teacher knew it was in there, so he had to do something to get the garage door open. It was one of those electronic keypad garages, where it opens when you put in the code. My teacher actually dusted for fingerprints, typed in the code number, and opened the door - all while the homeowner was in the room upstairs. He got the Porsche on his trailer, and got the hell out with the homeowner running out of his front door.

i've heard one one story where a repo man tailed a woman who had missed her car payments for several months. She had an irregular schedule though, being a stripper, so the repo man had to watch her for a few weeks. One night when she was coming home from work, she stopped at a gas station. while her car was filling up, she went inside the convenience store at the station. The repo man had followed her to the station, so he took the gas nozzle out, put the car in neutral, and towed it away, leaving the woman stranded

My uncle was a repo man for a little while....he quit after some guy stuck a gun in his face in NYC for repo-ing a 6 yr old Lexus (must have had some sort of odd sentimental value or an assload of drugs in it for someone to get that upset over such a worthless car).

people get pretty upset when someone tries to take something that "belongs to them". problem is, until you get the title from the bank, it ain't yours. fairly stupid to get upset over something you don't even own...

i've been repo'd twice. i expected it both times. i could've gone and hidden the cars or whatever, but i didn't and they came in the middle of the night both times. this last time i just went out to a buy-here-pay-here lot and got something to get to work in. lost one day of work. yeah, my credit sucks.
