Hmmmm, so the stock dual cat y-pipe actually necks down to 2-1/2"

I had to cut a short section of the cat-back off last night to fit the new Pacesetter y-pipe. And since SLP overtightened the clamp for the cat-back I couldn't separate the y-pipe from the intermediate pipe. So I had to cut through 2 pipes clamped together. Anyway, the stock y-pipe necks down to 2-1/2" id where the intermediate pipe clamps to it. And that's on an SS car! I can definitely see the longtube headers and y-pipe making a big difference.

you know the old saying a chain is only as strong as its weakest link? well exhaust systems only flow as well as the most restrictive part. It'll be a difference with the headers and y-pipe, but it'll really wake up with a cat back.

It's an SS and it already has the SLP 2OTL which is one of the best flowing cat-back setups. There won't be any cats on the car until I can get it over to a muffler shop and have them installed. Who knows, that might take 2 years!

Yeah, sounds great but looks wierd. But I don't want to spend money on a cat-back since this one is working perfectly fine.

Get used to the "oh, its a V6, it only has exhaust exiting to one side" line.
I remember the y pipe that came off my third gen, that thing was a BEAST! It was much bigger then the y pipe I put on. MUCH bigger.

Yes I am, that thing was much larger then the hedman y pipe I put on there. I just threw away the old Y pipe when I was cleaning out the garage and I said "good lawd that exhaust pipe is pretty damn big!!" I remember saying the same when I put on the y pipe. I to put an adapter on the cat so that it would fit.
