Need help, bad tensioner?

I couldnt find my original post about this, but it has gotten alot worse. There used to be a horrible belt squeak when it rained, but would dissipate over the course of 15 minutes. NOW, its just plain BAD. It didnt rain, nor did the belt noise go away. Since I dont know my LS1's just yet, I have no clue what it could be. At first, it would be consistant. Then after 20 minutes, it went away but at the slight tap of the gas the belt is loud. What could it be? And if it is "the tensioner"... where the hell is it?! LOL Thanks in advance.

You might even be able to get on in an auto parts store. I know for the older ones you can.

LS1's have been around for 9 years, I would hope you could get parts for it at a parts store!

yeah the tensioner is a known issue with ls1's...i personally never had a problem but i know cbrrmike had to replace his not too long ago. waterpumps are a sinch on ls1's though...might wanna consider upgrading to an EWP while your at it...maybe a 160* thermo as well...its a little bit of money but would be well worth it IMHO if yours died...01's you should be able to reuse the stock gaskets as well.
