I second the long trip to Eastside up in Connecticut. Ken is awesome and they are very professional. They tell you up front the cost and the time it will take if there are any delays they call you immediately.

Sorry to hear what happened.. TTP has moved 2 or 3 times in the las year or so and I was not impressed when I saw there cars run at Etown this year.

They had great prices, but it seems they are as almost as much as Cartech now..

Finding a guy or Shop (a good one)that works on LT1's is almost impossible now.

For LS1 work I would bring it to Mikey in PA.

have you contacted TTP about the install yet alex? with the number of staff member and location changes i would have to wonder who even worked on yoru car.
that is definately not the kind of work that i have seen TTP put out in the past. hope they haven't outgrown themselves.

HSW and EastSide seem to be two popular places now... I'll probably be going to the former in the springtime when I put the cam in. Sorry to hear about your plight, when I had my LT1 minus the header install (F THAT), I just did the work myself, everyplace dodged the question when I called about LT1 work

Sucks to hear man, hope you can get everything resolved with TTP. I got dyno tuned in June on their dynoday. The only complaint I had was that they reeeeally took their time. There were 8-10 cars that day, and each car had a reserved time slot. I had a 4-5pm slot and didnt get on the dyno until 8:00 pm. But in TTPs defense, my friends car was having issues while he was on the dyno and he took a little over 2hrs which pushed everyone back a bit. Matt took some $$ off the bill for having to wait and said that he'd install my lcas for free when I get my sfcs installed. (If I get them installed there) But other than that, Matt and the others seemed very professional and an all around good group of guys.

They seem like really nice guys but yes, they do seem to take their time. As for quality, I wont know until they are done assembling my heads.

Why would you say a thing like that?

The dyno day went slow only because one of the employees accidently cut the wire that runs to their spark pickup. So instead of apologizing to everyone and sending us home, they layed under most of the cars remaining to pick up RPMs the old fashioned way.

As far as saying their dyno sucks, try telling that to all the other hundreds of shops that use the exact same dyno....

If you brought this to my attention first, left in the condition it was in, I would have picked up the car in my enclosed trailer, fixed the wiring, and taken care of you.

i believe alex's camaro is his daily driver, right? if he had another car and had the time to call and wait for you to fix it, it would be a different story. but being a DD wtf is he supposed to do in the meantime. rememberse him some money or atleast fix it the right way...

i gotta agree with ttpmatt here. when you have a problem with a service you were provided you MUST contact the company that provided that service asap. ALSO, putting the problem in front of potential customers without actually contacting the shop to see what their course of action was is a total dick move. unfortunately every shop makes mistakes, since humans are not perfect people...the only thing seperating the good shops from the bad imo is their service after mistakes are discovered

I still don't see what's the problem with working on LT1's for some shops. They can be made to run with LS1's, and have lots of performance potential. I guess some shops will only work on "easy" cars to get power out of, and aren't up to doing a little homework to get a car to run. They laughed at someone's car because it was an LT1? I would have pulled my car right the hell out of there, and wouldn't even bring it back to have my tire pressures checked. There are a few shops that will do performance work to LT1's, you just gotta look. I would go check out Stage 1 in Pompton Plains, and ask for Rob, the owner. They do LOTS of Buick GN stuff, LS1's, LT1's, Mustangs, older musclecars, and everything in between, no imports though. He did the gears in my 12 bolt when I did the 4.10's, his work is excellent! I do 98% of my own work, and trust almost no one to work on my car, but if I ever do need anything done, I go to Stage 1, hands down. Do your homework when taking your car to a shop to have work done, check out their facility BEFORE having them do anything! Yes, I did check out TTP, but I will still be going to Stage 1.

Everyone complains about LT1s being tough to work on, but the LS1 is no picnic either just by how it's crammed under the hood. When I was changing the lid on my car, just removing the MAF my back was killing me. And backyard things that you should be able to do on any car, like changing spark plugs, I can't imagine the work involved just to get at them. You'd either have to remove a lot crap, or take the engine out.

I never knew about the problem. If he had called me I would have picked the car up and fixed it. I know the mechanic that did the wiring and I find it VERY hard to believe that the wiring looked like that. Nick just doesnt throw things into a fuse panel like that. Anyone that has had something wired with us knows how clean our installations are.

At this point I cant do anything but offer you a discounted installation on something further.

I agree that you should always leave it up to the shop to fix anything they did first before bringing a problem into the open. I have had problems with shops in the past and usually they will always help you out if something got screwed up. Just give them the chance to make it right before bashing them.

As a former shop guy, I totally agree. Thing happen (even bad). The shop should have gotten a call and an opportunity to make good. It is the adult way to handle things.

this is the correct advice. no ifs, ands or buts.

if you have a problem with someone and they FAIL TO FIX the problem, then bring it to the message boards. doing otherwise leads people to the wrong conclusion about what is probably a reputable company who had one service-tech who did the wrong thing. can't hold a whole company at fault for the work of one tech. now, if matt did the work... (which doesn't appear to be the case).

just to play devils advocate, Alex wasn't content with his first visit to TTP. this is probably what triggered his feelings torwards finding a mistake in his second visit. Alex is a great guy and i'm sure he was more frustrated then angry. you ever hear that saying: "when it rains, it pours?"

on the contrary its very nice of you Matt to offer help after all this... cant we all just get along?

I was never made aware of his discontent on the first visit. If I was I would have made it up to him, all of my customers know that. Its just very weird to me that these things are brought up months after the fact, something seems fishy...

It won't be right for me to comment on work because I haven’t had any done there, but I can comment on their ethics! I will say that the way Matt treated me concerning missing my dyno day was great! I missed the actual club dyno day due to a snow storm in my area. When I contacted Matt and asked how much more it would cost to bring the car down he offered me a dyno another day at no extra charge! Then when we did the dyno I had issues with a very rich tune and a major oil leak! Matt took time to go over my readings from the dyno as well as offered to work on the leak so I could do more pulls. I had gotten the info I needed from the dyno so I just called it a day. But I certainly got treated properly!

PS, Wayfast, how many dyno days have you attended and where??? I've been to a few different dynos and there is absolutely nothing wrong with TTP's. I'd rather wait a few hours overall and have my pulls spread out a few minutes then have three quick pulls on a heat soaked engine!
