never said you were half assing it, nor did I call you stupid. You asked for vette heads, I always seen them in the 300-400 dollar range in decent condition (not bare). You said that its too much, alright, thats too much then. Was not twisting your arm to buy them, just stated that they had valves and springs already on them. I do not know the cam you are running, so therefore didnt know they arent matched. Sit back, relax, take a deep breath and say "ahhh"

Yes vortecs outflow the vette heads. But you also need a special intake to use vortecs. As for not doing it half assed, your modding a 305... your off to a bad start as it is. But beings that you wont take anyone's advise about leaving the 305 alone...
The springs on the vette heads would not work with your cam, they are for a roller cam. If you do want the heads, Ill set them up with your springs and seals and lap the valves, but your on your own installing them, I just dont have the time for that at the moment.

I think you should think seriously about it if you really want those heads. $400, with an offer for him to install your springs, etc. is a good deal. I picked mine up from the swap meet at E-town for $375 from contemporary corvettes (and they needed all new hardware), and I've seen them sell L98s on ebay for over $600.

So, you are looking for heads because you can't change your valve springs?

Yea, they told me that at the swap meet when they wouldn't go any lower than $375. I didn't believe them at first, but I went to eBay and looked through some of their old auctions. Found a few for $550-$575, and one set for just over $600. It's amazing what people will spend on ebay sometimes.....

I picked up a set from them a few years ago for $250, they were considered "cores". They were the cleanest cores Ive ever seen! Their "nice" sets were $400. Thats the one thing I hate about eBay, it kills our local deals big time.
