				A little help
			 
			 
			
		
		
		
			
			I was am going to overhaul my 1987 Pontiac Firebird Trans am it has a CSB 305 with a 4 bbl i was wondering if anyone had some do's and don'ts for me. 			if you go to a straight carb, youll also need a new distributor with a vac. advance.  The electronic carb/ecm setup currently in your car uses the carb and stock distributor together to make adjustments, without one part, the other is useless or impaired.

			if it comes down to buying vs rebuilding an engine, go with a GMPP crate motor. for the costs of rebuilding an engine reliably at a machine shop that often only gives you a very short and limited warranty if any at all, you can get a bullet made with all brand new parts and a 3yr/36k mile warranty.  
it also invovles way less down time since a lot of the crate motors you will just need to hook up a few things to get running.
