to get the bottom end together you really just need a good engine builder. the lower portion of the block fits together the same as a Gen1 SBC.

Alright here is what I have decided

Check block, crank and rods for tolerances
Block dipped and cleaned
Magnafluxed to check for cracks
Balance rotating assembly
Bore 30 over to 355,
Align honed for cam and crank
Install new cam bearings, freeze plugs, block plugs
Install stock crank and rods with 30 over pistons
Install new high volume oil pump, radical cam, timing chain, lifters
Install new heads, (probably AFR, maybe Trickflow, or LE), pushrods, roller rockers,
Check piston to valve clearance
Install intake, valve covers, oil pan

This should put me at a complete long ready to install in my car, than I will install it and get a tune.

I'd suggest some good rod bolts like ARPs be added to your list.

97WS6. Did you ever find someone good, and how much was the work? I'm looking to do a LT1 build in my 87 IROC, but looking more towards boring .60 over and a friend suggested maybe do a 408 setup. I'm just wondering how much that work is looking to cost me.

I thought you were going to build a stroker.. And .060" bored 350 is a 361 not a 400 or 408.. My number is 215-783-4645 if you would like me to build your engine..
