If you are going to want to depend on the car a 400 turbo for street and taking it to the track and racing it in trophy modified ( best class for you ) we use TM with our heavy car at times but only for the time shots -- do you know how to build an automatic trans -- if not i have some good overhaul booklets its easy if you are mechanically inclined the biggest part is the cleaning of the unit -- and the small tricks in the Assembly to make it a semi race unit i can advise -- stay away from full manual valve body's for street driving the kits they sell ( trans go ) will and does have the parts to make the trans do anything you will need to do with a duel purpose car -- a little more in the converter than stock just might be what you will need -- its a 454 small block motor ??? or BBC dont remember what you had in discript -- jz

this might be a good time to mention that i'm seriously considering selling my TH400 over the winter. if it has more than 3,000 miles on it since the rebuild i'd be surprised. i had it rebuilt last summer, and very rarely drive it, and now don't race it much either because I've been busy with my dragster. Its full reverse manual valve body, and has a 3800 stall 9" converter (either ATI or Dynamic, i have both, unsure which is in it now)
I'm looking at making my car a full street car with very limited track time, so i'm doing a t56 swap.. the 400 will probably need a home.

well i just got back front island. i had alot of fun. much to my suprise nothing broke. i was expecting better time but i think it was more drivers error. if i had my drag radials and an automatic i think i would have been alot better. on the second run i missed 3rd gear. kinda sucks because that felt like it would have been the strongest.
 heres the slips

 R/T .703
 60' 2.170
 1/8 5.729
 mph 86.38
 1/4 13.139
 mph 109.65

 R/T .632
 60' 1.978

 1/8 5.567
 mph 87.16
 1/4 12.911
 mph 111.96

on the last run i realized that i was letting off to early. so i sayed on it all the ways through and i seamed to do better. looks like i have alot more to learn about racing. oh well practice makes perfect. oh yeah and they werent bad at tech. let me know what you think.

Yea, with the kind of power you are making a 1.5/1.6 60' time isn't out of the question, and that will lead to MUCH improved times.
Congrats on the 12 second pass though!
