The future of the Clash
i talked briefly to some people at atco. they were pretty happy with the results of the day. i don't know if we can roll this years results into an f-body only day next year, but i am certainly going to try.
the clash is one of the events that we would like to see as a part of the new series we are planning. that would mean more car count and more prizes to give out.
i am going to try to sit down with joe sr. soon and see if he has any concrete ideas for next year yet. hopefully this is something we can lock into early, get a better date, and have a lot mroe time to promote next year

Date is key. Even stupid NASCAR takes Mother's day off.

ATCO has just published its "preliminary" schedule online. There's no Clash on it (at least, as I can see). Is it going to happen this year?

i guess the event is bagged then. they also have not called me back about it even though i have left a few messages.
it's a shame really, with their facilities and the number of f-bodies around it coudl have really turned into a big event.
we will jsut press forward and put our full efforts into the 2007 East Coast F-Body Nationals at Island Dragway instead

So how's tech there? Atco didn't bust my chops when I ran 11.40, but I plan on having a few things sorted out by then. I'd have to make a weekend out of it if I went since it's 2 hours away.

If you plan on running quicker than 11.48s and 11.49s, I would suggest getting the 6 point installed before August

That's what I figured. The only thing the T/A is getting before then is a tune, a headlight motor, and a new tps sensor/wiring. After that I'm saving up for something more substantial.

Hmm, just throwing this out there... with the cruise we were talking about the other day (surf n turf / carolina) I wanted to look into a test & tune day at the track by our house. I can see if I can pull some strings and we might be able to get something worked out down here? Just a thought. Tim get in touch with me and lets see if we can work something out!

~shivers~ Carolina is a VERY long tow home if your car breaks.......
-Tim, I know it is kinda far away but do you want me to see if we can get Lebanon Valley for something this year? I think we can get a private day for $70 a person, and I think it is $35 if you pair with a day the track is open. We need at kleast 30 participants also. I might be able to pair something up with our Fall charity cruise. 5.0 mustangs rule the world up here and I could use some help dealing out humiliation.

Have any dates been thrown out? I go to ATCO often, but wouldn't mind trying a different track.

atco never got back to us about the event and it is not listed on their calendar this year.
we are throwing all of our efforts behind the east coast f-body nationals instead. it will be the third year of that event, celebrating the anniversary of the club.
it will take place on sunday, august 12th, at island dragway in north jersey. check out the nats forum for all the details.
it is a good time with lots of car show awards, goodie bags, trophies, and a cash prize fund for the heads up and bracket drag racing classes
hope to see you there
