lol, it takes a real effort to lose 100 points before the season even starts.
the kicker is, the car in question was impounded and their back up car is not even close to sortedout yet. it actually doesn't even meet the body templates. lol
form a little research i fgured out what they were doing to grab some more power. crank case evacuation and scavenging systems are ilegal on nextelcup cars. most of these systems work by using the exhaust to create a negative pressure envirotment inside the engine. toyta tried to be slick and ripped a page out of drag racing history and ran a similar system through the bottom of the intake.
the result was a fine oil mist on the inside of the intake that initially got nasar poking around.
well played gang, even the NHRA snuffed that one out 15 years ago.

it wasnt toyota, it was waltrips people, NONE of the other toyota motors, including waltrips teammate and backup car had this problem, its most likely going to be a big problem with toyota because those motors arent built by teams like the other manufactures, ALL the toyota teams use trd motors supplied by trd....they arent supposed to change anything INCLUDING timing, without consulting the toyota representitive that flys to each race to assist with motors, they are supposed to put them in, race, and take them out and give them back to toyota to be r&d'd rebuilt and repreped

I read it was an oxygenated agent used in airplane fuel or something so it would burn better at higher RPMS or something. And of course they are blaming someone not at the management level. It was someone who did it without our knowledge. BULL****, it's your car you know who's working on it how many guys are there at one time no one sees Clive from W. Virginia adding something that he's not suppose to and says something. I don't buy it they did it on purpose and got caught.
Just like the other idiots who drilled hole in the wheel wells and didn't think they'd get noticed. DUMB they are true Dee dee deees

they didnt "drill" holes in the wheelwells, those holes are there and allowed to be there on certain tracks, but on other tracks must be covered or plugged, they got in trouble for not having them properly pluged...
the other teams got in trouble for drilling holes in the spoiler bolts "gun drilling" they claim to lighten the bolts which is legal, but nascar says it was enabling them to evacuate air from inside the car which improves aero which is illegal

You decide - either is applicable. If he hadn't been good friends with #3 I wonder if he'd even still be driving, the way they move on to young guys now.

Gives a eff. I dont think Toyota has had a successful run in ANY motorsport they have enterd?
They spend a LOT more then Ferrari, BMW or any other tream does in F1
Lexus gets stomped in Rolex by Porsche and Pontiac
I dont know how well they do for Craftsman Truck.
Kinda hard to be a sporty company when you make weaksauce appliances.

toyota has had a past success in prototype racing back in the 80's, and their F1 program isn't as far off as the drivers they keep hiring.
the rolex thing is a tough call, they got f'ed over bad on weight last year and the sanctioning body(same stooges that own nascar) haven't given it all back to them. last year the yota's were weighing in the same as the pontiacs that they were giving up almost a ful liter of displacement to.
toyota has failed to ever show any success in any form of racing that is remotely production based though.
toyota has also had some success in cart cars, although not much consistancy to speak of.
the thingto understand about toyota and the other jap manufacturers is that winning is not the immediate point of why many of them race. market exposure and engineering weigh far more heavily on thier minds than winning the redneckian 500 ever will

Chevy just launched a brand new engine for Nascar too, called the RO7. I was reading the article on GMI, said that the heads are similar to the Gen IV style heads.
