Where does everyone hang out with their cars in the summer here?
I'm new to this board, and fairly new to NJ (I've been here for a little over 2 years now). One thing I really miss about IN is that we always hung out with our F-bodies in mass quanities nearly every Friday and Saturday night in the summer.
It has mostly been my fault here because I haven't actively been seeking to find anything like this out here until now. Anyways, is there a place out here where a lot of you guys hang out with your cars in the summer? I am in central Jersey near McGuire AFB and am looking to get back into the F-body croud. I have heard some guys on base here travel up to Toms River. Anyone know where they go? Or any other places to hang out and cruise around?

well they usually gather at the Wawa on 37 or i think there is a white castle or wendy's or something. It's been a while since I hung out in T.R. In a couple of weeks once the warmer weather hits you can check out this website for all the local car cruises and car shows.
www.njcarshow.com
Other then that if you check on here in the central and maybe north section depending on how far you want to drive people set up meets / barbq's all the time.

Hmm haven't seen your car yet. I work on mcguire. I'm usually driving the C5 around, but the T/A makes it out more when it's all together for a change lol. Usually there are a few meets going on courtesy of this site, cruising/hanging out in TR at the super stop and shop, large and small wawas off 37, and rice castle(I mean white castle lol). I know when I'm off I always go to my car club meet on sundays at the super wawa on 38 in mt. holly around 7 ish. It's cold now so the the turnouts are the diehards only. I'm sure I'll see you around. I'm usually driving one of the cars in my sig.

Welcome to the club! Ironically, Indiana is one place I am currently looking at to move to.

Well, Indiana was sweet. Living expenses (property tax, houses, property, insurance) are all a fraction of the price they are in NJ. I miss it mostly because of the car buddies I had there and how much we hung out.
Again, I haven't made a very big effort in seeking out places to hang in NJ until now. I'll definatly be out this year. It's Wrightstown thats near McGuire AFB ( I actually live on base).
Jersey T/A; I believe you and I haven't officially met yet. Although we know at least a couple of the same people. One who owns a Purple Pearl Metallic T/A, and a Nassau Blue C5 (same job as me ). And the other one we both know is a crew chief who last year tried to start a race between your black T/A and my silver supercharged 95 Z. He jokingly told you I was talking smack about your car (when in fact I did no such thing) and then was trying to tell me a similar story from you trying to get us to race .
Here's a couple pics of my two F-bodies. The black one is my DD (and probably has been seen cruising around base). The silver one is the fast one which I will be bringing out to NJ again this may (it currently is in its winter hibernation back in Indiana in a heated garage)

Hell yeah, bring your cars on up to TR. We should really make an effort this summer for large gatherings along 37/Seaside.

Ahahahahaha no ****. wow, small world lol. I so remember that day he came in and told me someone was talking smack on my car lol. LOL I think I even posted that up on the old version of this site ahaha. Yeah, I know who you're talking about with the T/A and C5. He just transferred to scott. P.S. which just happens to be an hour south of my hometown. Well it's nice to unofficially meet you on here. I'm sure we'll see eachother around here.

If you boys get bored on a Friday night, try the Fuddruckers on rt. 42 in Turnersville. Lots of different cars there. The ricers only show up after dark and they cluster together in the corner. They sit there posing untill a car with a healthy sounding v8 or a blower goes by, then you can see their jaws hit the floor and they turn around embarassed and pretend not to notice the big powerful American car.

It's pretty cold and nasty out there for me to even think about cruising around for at least a few more months in the F-bodies. But you can definatly count me in in a few months!
Jersey TA, we will definatly have to "officially meet" sometime.

I hearing that the new Hooters on 23 in Frankin will host something weekly in the spring/summer.
Having something "local" for us extreme northerns would be ok
