does not matter if its a holley or a q jet , edelbrock -- the one thing you need to check is the ground for the choke -- 9 out of 10 elect chokes with problems are grounding issues -- how to check -- first you need a 12 volt supply to choke ( only ) when the key is on and car is running --- NO OTHER TIME --- than take a test light place one end on battery ground if its close and place the test light ice pick end on to anything metal on the ( choke housing screw or rivert itself ) - if it lights you have a bad ground and choke will never open so idle slows down -- if this happenes take a screw out of choke or drill the rivet and tap a 8/32 thread in it ( some 10/24 ) and conect a wire with end onto it and conect the other end to any part of the car that shuts the light off on the test light ( 5/16 -24 nut for the carb hold down or we use one of the other screws that hold choke on to side of carb -- do it neet and no long extra wire to get caught up in anything and now because you might have turned the fast on choke screw out it will be trial and error to get the right mix of cold engine speed and choke door spring tension -- hope you get what i an saying about it -- jz
