Would a 3rd gen headlight assembley fit a 4th gen?

Was just wondering my friend has an 88 fireturd in his backyard and the assembleys still work. Was wondering if i could replace it with mine on my 2000? (not the shielding, just assembley)

I think they are completely different, but I'm not 100% sure.

Much different fit there. The 4th gens are rounded towards the bottom of each light as I recall, while the 3rd gens are rectangular all the way across. I doubt they would fit.
