Aslong as you have a grinder, power sander and a sanding block it isnt as hard as people think..
fiber glass mat
fiberglass resin
And a proper body filler for flexible panels.
You better off filling the area with fiberglass then using the filler to fill in the pin holes..
But it would also depend on if that center indent shows through to the back of the hood because then you will have to lay fiberglass mat on the back of the hood also..
And make sure you do it out side
The fiberglass dust is bad and same with the fiberglass resin is nasty

as above fiber-glassing is pretty straight forward just dont try and rush the job and i'm sure you'll be fine. Use as little as possible of filler as was said use it for the smallest pin holes that appear after fiberglass rub down.
i think so many people dont give it enough effort to make it perfect or rush it thats why you hear so many diy horror stories. Good luck with it imo definitely do it looks amazing.

I think you should go for it Alex. It is pretty original, and you should get a nice sense of pride when you tell people that you did it yourself.

As stated abobe you can do it, but its going to take a lot of time, i would cut that stinger off with a cutoff tool, any try not to damage the back part of the hood, then grind the edges, put in some fibergalss mat, grind that level to the hood, then finish with fiberglass filler, when you get the filler shaped like you want it, finish with polyester glazing putty. That job for an inexpeienced bodyman will take about 8-10 hours.

Where can I get fiber glassing filler and the glaze? Can I use this on my headliner, and sand it down so their are not "lumps" from the fiberglass mat?
alex, I also have tons of bondo home solutions mat, hardener and the solution left..
