				 I am scared

I am browsing auto trader for a cheap car I can pick up and drive when I get my permit, I see a 95 dodge ram 1500 for $695 with $90,000 miles saying it has a weak trans I think no big deal, and then I looked at the gas mileage at 12/16, I show my mom the truck, and she says "NO! Krysta's(my sister) friend Kasey is yelling a 79 camaro for $2800 we are going to look at it tomorrow, But don't get your hopes up".
WTF did I do? Should I be happy or sad? Its supposedly dark blue, and an auto thats all I know, But I also know, he is a body guy/ painter, so The car should be in decent condition.

Edit, I think she's trying to bribe me into not getting a tattoo...

Take the 79 Camaro and be happy.
Sell the 84 TA and use the money to fix whatever needs fixing in the 79, or a fresh coat of paint if needed. Probably wont get enough from the 84 to do both.

Edit: You don't need a tattoo. You do need wheels to get to school and to your job.

If you need a daily driver and are still in school, go with something cheap and good on gas, like a used (Sorry, UBG) foreign job or something American with four cylinders. Take the nice car out on the weekends and use the front wheel drive good on gas car to get back and forth to school and work.
When I was eighteen, I knew everything (Just like every other teenager) and told my parents, "I'm buying the Camaro I always wanted!" What's worse than that, I went out and bought an '83 with the anemic six-cylinder because I was going to drop in a small block. I promptly sold the Toyota Corolla I was driving and the project car became my daily driver. The result? Well, working part-time at the A & P while going to college and having a girlfriend didn't support putting a small block in my Camaro and the car fell apart piece by piece after driving it in the rain, snow and sleet. I'm 33 now, and FINALLY have a project car to play with. You've got one now; if you plan on keeping it, I'd advise against buying the '79 because then you'd have TWO project cars.

Just my two cents. Now excuse me while I go stick my head in the oven for sounding like an old man.

My daily driver was the 80 Pace car and man am i glad i now have the 89 GTA. throw it up on a lift before purchase, thats where my mistake came with the 80. unless that car is in good shape, stick with the 84.

Heres the deal, The guy was a painter, he was bored one night and got free paint from his work, and painted it one night. its decent for what it is, basically compare the paint job to my maaco paint, and the car it self cost's $200.
Basically Its a 79 z28 with a cowl hood, black from the lights past the windows, blue everywhere else, its a 350, headers, eddelbrock intake, and carb,IT IS LOUD!, the interior needs work.

car was stolen in NY but has since gotten a new vin number.

I have alot of thinking to do.

Stolen and then given a new VIN number? Cars don't just get new VIN numbers legally.....you know that right?
