Winter Project 1 - Exhaust

Beginning the winter project planning. I’m starting with the exhaust since Pypes has some nice GP buys this month. Plus these are the basic designs, so other systems (torque tech, custom/cobbled together) would be similar in nature. This is for the 77.

Exhaust choices:

Option 1:
Pypes SGF11 - 2.5” "Rear-Exit" System w/ X-pipe
• 16 gauge, mandrel-bent, 409 stainless steel pipe
• Street or Race-Pro mufflers
• Factory fit tailpipes, cad plated clamps and stainless hangers.

Option 1a:
Same as above with this crazy x-pipe, simply for the cool factor, of course. All the cool kids have cutouts.

And look at those flames LOL

Option 2:
Pypes Crossflow setup

• True 'straight thru' flow path. There is absolutely no loss of flow thru the muffler.
• Driveshaft tunnel X crossover kit for maximum ground clearance even on lowered vehicles.

I plan on using this one for the 67, so worst case scenario is I could take it out of the 77 and put it in the 67 and do something else in the 77. Appears to be same kit, although I have to confirm that.....

The added ground clearance is very enticing. Just looking for thoughts. The temporary turn downs have to go. LOL

Crossflow set up with your lowered car , then you can bring the nose down. When you get the 17's it will be even lower. More ground clearance.

i still say tailpipes look goofy on second gens.
headers, 3" - 2.5" reducers, x-crossover, magnaflow or similar mufflers, turn downs in front of the rear axle.
clean, simple, inexpensive. save the money for the 6spd swap or an engine with some serious snot.

Tailpipes are cheap. As is the black paint to paint them.

scott, you should see if you can do the gp, and then pick the parts up at the swap meet and save on shipping....could carry em over to my spot untill it closed for the night and then pull your car in and take them home

I've never liked the sound of any of the pypes mufflers that I've heard......get the tubes from them, and then pick up some spintech mufflers!

That's a sick suspension with some serious tire, a great suspension, and a T56. Why doesn't that car have a driveshaft safety loop??????????????

That is a lateral dynamics 3 link, IIRC. The x-pipe would work for a loop, no? LOL

That suspension looks BA. Too bad they didnt use mandrel bends on the tubes.

Is that the first gen you showed me the engine compartment to? Penny or something like that?
