****MOBILE INSPECTION SIGHTING****

right now, 11am, there is a mobile inspection station in maywood, located on the on-ramp to 17 north, off essex street. theyre pulling people over on the ramp and using the parking lot of Velocity 17 (go-cart place) for the testing.

I'm sure they have heard that one before. I dread the day I ever run into one of those.

yeah there was one in bellmawr last year and one of my friends, who's father is a trooper, got caught by one of them and they ripped his sticker outta his window and fined him, not caring his father's a trooper. his car now still sits w/o a sticker.

That Maywood stop is pretty common. I saw it at least twice over the summer!

What do these inspections do? Just check for failed stickers or do they reinspect even if your sticker is still valid?

Is this a crackdown on the illegally printed fake stickers?

It's a crackdown on whatever they can write a ticket for.

its another way to hassle the working man, and make more money off fines. im sure it was also a combined inspection/seatbelt stop.

Thats how they get the cops involved by adding the seatbelt thing.

Actually, I think the cops set it up. It's instant revenue. They are the ones standing in the roadway waving you over, and if you get one that's sharp enough to pick out a fake sticker, it's gonna get expensive real fast. They look for every violation they can find. I got stopped for having a vanity plate on the front of my car and my real plate in the front windshield (Yeah, a little obvious and stupid, but I was a kid...ended up getting out of any tickets by whipping out a screwdriver and fixing it on the spot).

Also if you roll up to one in a car that has an exhaust, basicly anyone on here, they are gunna inspect your car. If it doesn't pass emissions they take your sticker and can legaly impound your car. Paramus does one alot right of Rt. 4 goin North on Paramus Road. They use that church thing right there. Usually the counties run that one. Atleast that I've seen.

Bordentown does them usually about once a month or so. Out here in North Hanover they do it every once in a while in a spot that you cant see until youre over a hill and you have no way of turning around...I got the joy of hitting both the Bordentown one AND the North Hanover one in the Chevelle on the same day. Both times I got hassled for the exhaust, no inspection sticker, and the guy in North Hanover even commented me on the small specs of BFG that were scattered all over my quarter panel and rocker molding. He just gave a smile and told me to get the hell out of there.
