What's the best way to apply touch up paint?

Girls Corolla's got a few scratches...I told her id touch them up for her...Ive done it on some old cars w/ the little tip brush supplied and it looked like ...any tips would be appeciated.

thin coats and let it dry between coats. use enough coats to build up the scratch to the paints surface

Do that but if it doesnt look that good when it evens out with the surface, let it build up more and the wet sand it with like 1500 or 2000 and then buff it, polish wax, the whole deal. It should look great after that.

for some scratches... like smaller ones.. a guy i work with will actually take a toothpick... and apply it that way... because some of the touch up paints brushes are bigger sumtimes.... so using the tip of the toothpick gets just enough on the spot yer trying to hit where as the rush will get it all over the existing paint too....... try it out....

try a toothpick, or shop around for duplicolor's touch up kit. comes with 3 grades of small sand paper, paint prep, paint, and clearcoat. its best for stone chips, larger scratches, but will work on anything. you have to follow the directions to the letter and take your time, but itll come out looking like factory paint.

Use the TORN END(of a matchstick) from a book of matches. Just pull off one match, and use that end. The paper will absorb just enough paint to lay down a nice clean line. Also make sure the paint if fairly THINNED OUT. If it is too thick, it will also glob up. Last, make sure to do it on a warm/ dry car. This cold weather also will not permit the paint to dry.
