Hey, can someone try to signup at the website listed in the first post of this thread and tell me if it let you create an account. if it did let me know, if it didin't also let me know. Seems as though for some reason it's only letting some people signup.

I signed up two days ago. As far as I can tell, the account is fine. I chose the TBC option. Was that right? Last night I DLed the two main game files. Tonight I'm going to DL the patches. Someone said the website you go to to DL the patches might also automatically try to install the latest 2.2.3 patch, preventing all the other patches from DLing because it thinks you already have the most updated patch (2.2.3). Has anyone encountered this? DO I just cancel the DL if it tries to DL a patch out of order?

I'm worried about changing the .wtf file. I have no idea how that works when I launch WoW - will it automatically find the server? Or do I have to do something different at login to make it look for the server vs. the Blizzard servers?

Finally, I know a few folks around the country who play WoW (this will be my first time). Are you limiting access to this free server to NJFBOA folks, or to a certain number of players, or no restriction at all? I haven't said anything yet, but Im sure some players would love to play for free.

Hey, access to this server is public. You want the most current version, 2.2.3, it's the only version that will work on this server. About the WTF file, just follow directions found on my site and you'll be fine, if you wanted to go back to play the pay blizz servers then just go back into the file and edit it back. When you launch wow it loads the realmlist.wtf file.

Apollo - Airik, Human Warrior 14. I have played each of the last 3 nights around 9:00pm - 1:00am. Not sure Im gonna keep him yet since I'm having more fun with....

Vulcan - Moloch, Undead Warlock 8. Having an absolute blast with this guy and will probably keep playing him. The Imp he summons has some pretty funny sayings.

Can characters be moved to different servers? Can I move my Warlock to Apollo from Vulcan?

I chatted with Eric last night - after he kept summoninig bosses that killed me instantly - and talked about getting more people to play. I never see anyone on Vulcan so I'd like to move to Apollo if thats possible (without starting over).

For everyone that plays, DO NOT UPDATE TO THE NEWEST PATCH !!

I re-installed the game in the order that was given on the website and I am still getting the message:

Unable to validate game version

I tried to go to the stomping.servegame.com website after re-installing and couldn't get there either.

A little help?

try the site again. about the unable to validate, did you install burning crusades ? right click WoW.exe and make sure its 2.2.3.xxxx , nothin else, then ur fine, then install the launcher that's on the website or link above.

yea, just been real busy with work. I have to reinstall after doing the patch by accident. I should have time to get the game working again Tuesday night.

Same boat as Steve, gotta get the software sorted out since I DLed the stupid patch too.

After New Years probably before I get to it. I got a rebuilt PC from a friend that I put together but have to upgrade it to XP first, then I'll probably put the WoW stuff on that one.

sweet yeah before u run it first time on my site is the launcher installer, use that once ur at 2.3.3, and itll NEVER patch. w00t lol

hey anyone still play? any new patches newer than 2.2.3 WON'T WORK. Takes a lot of work to get it to work and i just dont want to invest lots of time if i dont get lots of people to use it. YOU CAN DOWNGRADE! Just ask me how.

The PC I was planning to use for this crapped out on me a while ago. I just haven't put the time into fixing it yet, so haven't been on in months. Not sure when I'll get back to it.
