yeah, I flip the hell out when anyone feeds Tonka (my dog) people food. My family has been pretty good about not feeding him anything but his dog food, even though hes an eating/pooping machine. When I got him he weighed 30 lbs hes up to 48 now ( a little over a month later) hes just growing like a mad man. At only 6 months im afraid of what hes gonna be like in about a year. He is just built like a truck. How old is Mickey, Bubba?

I've got an 85 pound Collie who also runs around furniture when he's ready to play. Outside he races circles around the kids' playground. Being a Collie he's all fur and teeth.

I like my 2 cats better. Eat, sleep, chase bugs, sleep.....

Talk to the vet about how much food he should be getting a day, and be very clear with the rest of the family that the dog shouldn't be fed any more than that. It's costing you more money in food and it'll cost you more in vet bills as he gets older...the extra weight will really do a number on his joints. I have an 80lb rottwieler, black lab, golden retiriever mix, and he gets by just fine on 2 cups of food a day.

fruit is ok to feed as a treat........ (my dog loves bananas lol) but when fed in excess is not good for the overall heath of the animal.......... fat dog = shorter life = more vet bills

a heathy diet for the dog will equal a longer happier life and more enjoyment of your dog

Yea I know this. I've had a dog before, and he ate nothing but his dog food. I give the dog a treat from time to time, not often just happened to video tape once lol. The problem is the 9 other people I live with. He begs they give, its getting pretty bad. I got my brother and my older cousins to stop, but my I keep seeing my aunt give him half her dinner ever night.

Yea, my sister's cat will randomly attack furniture (and other non-moving objects). I read somewhere that close to 70% of cats see some form of hallucinations, and whether or not it's true, I think that explains a lot of things that I have seen cats do over the years.

Haha...that's funny. My male does the same thing every morning. He grabs his green Cuz and runs around the house like a nut, too!

As for the people food = bad for dogs argument, that's very vague and not necessarily true. Certain foods yes, most no. As little as 70 years ago, there were no dog food companies, and many more dogs lived longer, disease free lives than they do today. Many popular dog foods contain canine allergens (such as corn, wheat and soy), synthetic and carcinogenic preservatives, are loaded with sugars and fat, and don't forget about those questionable meat sources in some. My two haven't had dog food in over 2 years, and never will again (they eat raw). I'm not saying that ALL dog foods are bad, but there's only a very short list that I'd ever consider.
