As for my recomendations it would be 3.73s for the OP, and 4.10s for NightRyda

NightRyda - with 4.10s and an M6 80 mph in 6th gear is only ~2150 RPM.

The difference between 3:23s to 3:73s when I had my 94 Z (A4) were actually pretty good. The SOTP meter definitely noticed a difference. Probably the best modification to the car I did. The thing was only bolt ons with a tune btw. The car got sideways alot more

the performance difference is there between the 3.73's and the 4.10's. the extra smiles for the same investment wil more than offset the few extra bucks you may spend on fuel over the course of a year.
besides, when you reset the computer to deal with the gears you can make adjustments to the program to add power and economy at the same time. that will more than offset the gear change.
