Cool lt4 hot cam

Hey guys my brother is telling me that an lt4 hot cam will work in my 1987 z28 iroc 350 tpi..Is this true..

i have a stock 93 lt1 cam (it has the biggest lift of the lt1's) also have all the springs locks and screw in studs .. im almost posative it will work cause someone else was interested in it for the same type of motor ... i will post up the specs after i find them

It will but may require a custom prom to run correctly.

93's came with a .460" lift camshaft. 94 on came with .449".

Not with stock heads. Advertised lift the cam is with 1.6 rockers, so keep that in mind. But the max lift with stock heads is .470 I believe.

oh sorry. With 1.6 rockers the hot cam would be .525 advertised lift. .492 on 1.5's. I forgot that they advertise with 1.6 rockers since they are included in the kit. The cam by itself is with stock rocker ratio.

Still too much for stock heads.

EDIT: I don't think we are talking about hte same cam anymore are we? You talking about the 93 LT1 cam? Cause he was asking about the Hot Cam....

He's talking about the LT4 cam that the OP is asking about, not the stock LT1 cams.

With the hot cam you will need to get new valve springs, the stock ones will not work.

Yes it will fit, no you shouldn't buy it. Your stock heads won't flow anywhere near enough to make that cam worthwhile. It is also very lumpy and you would need new Valve srings and tuning to make it work. A standard LT1 or LT4 cam would be a better edition to your car.
