				instrument cluster swap in a 3rd gen/fuel gauge ?

I want to swap mine out for a 145mph cluster, should everything just plug right in and work? this would be going in my 89 RS
my fuel gauge is broken too. could it be the sender in the tank causing this? the gauge does not move at all its like stuck at half a tank

I swapped the factory cluster out of my 87 for a 145mph cluster. Only problem I had was with the choke. I put a cluster from a fuel injected car in place of my original one. There was some difference in the printed circuit, one of them had a "choke" lamp and the other had a "security" lamp. My choke did not work until I figured out what i did wrong.

Forgot to mention, my car is a T/A. I think the clusters are different from pontiac to camaro.

mph will be off, everythign else should be fine. as for the fuel gauge, could be the gauge itself or sender(no power, ground or signal)

would a 145 work in my carbed 86 T/A? every thing that runs the motor is independent of the computer.
