I do know that to transport and possess it you need a permit from the division of health and senior services. I got one a few years ago, it lists either "medical" or "automotive" use. If I knew where it was I'd scan it for you so you could see.

Here is the application.

What Billy said,(permit to handle)
and then the only really mention of Nitrous Oxide in state statutes involve food & drug section
also that it can be used against you in a DUI if it's in your system...

i'll keep looking though

like mentioned you need to apply for the permit it costs $25 dollars now. The permit lists the use as automotive, you can have the bottle in your car but it CANNOT be opened up while on the street. You can have it connected but the bottle must be closed.

i.e. if you want to mess around on the streets get an electric bottle opener so if a cop pulls you over you can close the bottle and say it was off.

I know someone who lives in PA that got pulled over with it without his permit or connected and on(don't remember which), but they smacked him with a $1000 fine.

one of those things thats ignored for the most part but really depends on the situation... pull someone over for doing 80 in a 65 cruisin through traffic... prolly give him a ticket and say slow down. pull him over for doing 95 in a 65 and the dudes in a rice burner or pony car and sniff away for all the **** you can find if the guys a douch and putting people at risk.
