loudmouth for 3rd gen
did slp ever make a loudmouth for 3rd gen's? if not, has anyone taken the loudmouth muffler and put it in a 3rd gen? a friend of min has a loudmouth set up for his old 98 z. he said i can take it for 100 bucks. worth it?

The "Loudmouth muffler" is really just a resonator, or bullet muffler. If you just want the sound, replace your muffler with a bullet.

NAPA sells a muffler delete pipe for 98-02 f-bodys. string and i put one on his 89 rs. sounds pretty sweet. he had a flowmaster set up on it previously so the pipes matched up perfect (3 inch). i think its under $100 and its not obnoxious like the loudmouth, but u do hear it. i have the loudmouth on my 4th gen and i prefer his exhaust note. the idle isn't crazy, loud when you are on it though. i can get a vid if you are interested and a part #, show you the set up. lemme know.

ya i have to get the napa ones. his brother just bought them off him. i do have 2 concerns about the napa ones. one would the cops bust my balls because technically it'll be unmuffled? and two would i still be able to run at the track on days/nights that you have to have a muffled vehicle?

1. i dont know how the cops are in jersey city. string hasn't gotten pulled over yet. its not nearly as loud as an slp loudmouth, but its louder than the flowmaster. so i guess it depends on the cops and the reverb from surrounding buildings. 2. if its a strict track, they most likely won't let you run.
an option could be welding a muffler case around the delete pipe to appear as if you had a muffler. you could also get a bullet muffler and install it in the i-pipe to technically be muffled. thats how the loudmouth is if you didn't already know. i'll try and remember to get the part number tomorrow. i'll have to see on the video though cause string is off tomorrow (he works across the street) so more likely the weekend.

Well for the most part the cops only bust the import peoples balls with the exhaust and even then its pretty rare to get pulled over for just the exhaust. they have more important things to do. if they get pulled over for something else then they'd give an exhaust ticket. i guess at night it would be more of an issue, but again usually only for the imports. i do however work in montclair. and monclair cops are pretty much complete ******* pieces of ****. my car got IMPOUNDED because my left rear tire was too worn out....... so im a little worry about driving there not really for the loudness, but if they see that there is no muffler. i'll be going mainly to etown and island. i know etown is strict, but ive seen people run rediculously loud cars at night when there is a noise regulation. just dont know if they have an exhaust or not... hmm...... what to do...what to do.......
so with the loudmouth, there is no muffler? just a bullet style muffler on the i pipe?

yes after the cat conv a bit but before the over the axle pipe. its really a resonator but somehow is called a muffler. absolutely no muffling. napa has a bullet muffler as well or you can buy a loudmouth 1 or 2 muffler and a couple adapter pipes to fit it in.

GO FOR IT! I have a loudmouth on my 305tpi and i love it. My 92 Z28 never sounded so sexy. Its a great price too! Mine bolted right up in place you just need an adapter to go from 3in to your size cat.

part number 53365 if it expires or whatever. you need to be on the parts pro se page. it will probably take a week to get it though, comes from texas i think so don't bank on a weekend thing. if you still want a video clip, i'll see if i can get time tomorrow, kinda busy at work though.

yeah they won't have it. they are custom made. my dad owns a napa autocare center and we almost exclusively do napa parts. took about a week to get. i think it would sound awesome though, close to a loudmouth but not as crazy i think. no resonator to juice it up. the kit it comes in has the same bullet style muffler though. its a perfect fit with a flowmaster set up and a nice step up.
