Question EIBACH PRO SPRING INSTALL QUESTION/HELP!

I am thinking of finally getting a set of EIBACH Pro Kit Springs(part #3801-140). They claim it will lower the car about 1" front and rear. Here are some of the positive claims, they will NOT ride too hard or harsh, they will improve 1/4 mile times due to the fact that the car will not squat upon launch and will improve looks. Handling is not a concern since the car has EDLEBROCK LCA and a PANHARD BAR along with a WONDERBAR and HOTCHKIS STRUT TOWER BRACE so I have all the handling I can SAFELY use right now. Right now I have a 3" gap from the top of my tires to the edge of my fenders and a 1" drop will help get rid of the 4 x 4 look. My MAIN CONCERN is that I have factory dual cats that are 4" from the ground now and with the 1" drop the 3" looks really close. Has anybody heard of a 3rd Gen Firebird with these on so that I might get some insight into what problems I will run into?

i had a 88 red camaro that had 1 1/2 drop front and i think 1 3/4 in the rear and the only thing that rubbed was the y pipe on giant speed bumps but even that was rare

this is the only pic i have left that shows drop, but the left front spring was bad and was lower then norm, the wheel wells were about even b4 spring collapsed

ONLY the 1991 and 1992 FIREBIRD 305/350 TPI(with the Performance Package) had the DUAL CATS and because of the design, the cats are WAY below any under panel part. When you look under the car, the first item you see are the cats which are now 4" from the ground. The Camaro does not have this setup!

OK, I wasn't aware of that. We now sell the EIBACH's at Sears and just want to know how many problems they will create over what the positives will be.

We have sold the Eibach's for a while. I was planning to put them on my old 87, but that never happend. I put them on my 72, and that was a bad move.
I remember reading a lot on TGO about them, and they get a pretty good rep. I used to scrape my exhaust with stock stuff...
Gunna put a set of those sick Monroe's in there!!! SENSATRACS!! Come to Freehold, Ill sell ya the springs!

i doubt your stock cats are any lower then the hack job done with my exhaust. stage 1 did such a shyty job placing the cats and even the O2 sensors, i doubt i have 3in of clearance at the lowest point with my susp. drop. if you remember, my car is pretty low, but ive stopped scraping on most bumps. i dont know if 3rd gens have them, but if so, keep the rear isolators on, and make sure your tires are properly inflated to keep your clearance as high as possible. youll probably be fine.

he's gonna have a lot of fun over on thirdgen.org - talk about a site that has tech info for thirdgens? that's heaven over there. make sure to use the SEARCH function, or you'll get slammed for sure.

compared to my stock iroc springs, my front end is all that dropped with the pro kit...the rear stayed right about in the same spot as the rears are pretty much the same as a stock iroc one.
