Jersey - if you read it you would know that there are several times over the few months it was going that I said or inferred that I was gonna end it at 10k posts. I also did lots of editing and post merging in it every day to keep the whoring to a somewhat acceptable level.....kinda.
Other members deleted some of their own posts too to try and be at the top of certain pages, etc. If you aren't a Buddy List OG, it's kinda hard to fully understand just what the Buddy List is and what it stood for.

Just out of curiosity, why did you lock it at 10k, not 20, 30 or 100?

Just a number that was picked in the early days of the BL. Seemed at the time like it would take forever, but there were nights where we would add 200+ posts to it, so it hit that number faster than any of us thought it would.

Oh yeah?
ENERGY SUSPENSION SHIPS ZIP-TIES WITH THEIR CLAMSHELL MOTOR MOUNTS!
You hammer/drill out the big rivets in your existing mount, open it, insert your new energy susp insert, and zip tie them back together.
No ****. I'm not kidding. I ended up welding mine together when the time came.

Maybe once per year, on the anniversary of the death of the buddy list thread, we could open it for like a 2 hour period, for nostalgias sake.

IIRC the buddy list thread really started to lose interest toward the end of its life. there were times where an hour would go by and people hadn't posted
