great opportunity

I'm always looking online for cars for sale just to know whats out there, what the trends are, price changes, etc. I'm always looking at F-Bodies and I came across one a few days ago that made me go 'wow'. I was hoping to get enough money together to be able to buy it, but I won't unfortunately. So, I'm going to post it here in the chance that one of you might be interested. This is a real collector car. I was looking around and found this;

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEWA:IT&ih=004

An original 1997 Pontiac Firebird Comp T/A ...... 1 of 2

These cars I feel will be as rare and collectible as the L-88 Corvettes from 1967 - 1969. They only made a handful of them and this is the first one I've ever seen for sale in the seven years I've been looking for one. I originally wanted one before I got my Hawk but couldn't find one anywhere. Anyway, I talked to the owner and he has all the documentation on the car and he only wants 15k for it. Hopefully one of you will snag it and I can see it in person

Its a shame that teh Comp TA didnt just get an update, and keep that line of tire going. The Traction TA has done a great job of picking up where the Comp left off, but Tractions have this problem of wearing out on the shoulder are a hard core. I had it, and many customers have it. Its not under inflation, cause I kept them a few psi higher, but customers come in with both edges worn. I racked mine up to the fact that I took my car into turns a bit harder then average.

Definetly rare but I doubt they will reach L88 status. Not even close.

1 of 2 is actually ZL-1 production, BTW.

still, i doubt it has reached a point where people will scramble to pony up the cash for it. that is one of those "long-term investments" and not something that can be unloaded for a big profit 10 years later...

I think they're pretty cool cars and they were top of the heap! Until the LS1 cars were built. I would take an LT4 car over an LT1 car for collectability though. Just remember, in order for the car to hold maximum value, you need to keep it in mint condition and limit the miles. That means you might not be able to enjoy as much. My old 93 Indy Pace Car already had 28K miles on it when I traded for it so I knew it wasn't going to be one of those low mileage, mint condition cars so I used it as my daily driver. It was a unique car that I wouldn't mind having back.
