I need someone with a little more experience with cam bearings. I need t oswap a single cam bearing out and was wondering if anyone with a tool or just the know how to do this job was willing to give me a hand.
Ill have some beer and depending on how tuff the job is ill prob. have some cash on hand too.

The cam got hung up on something in the radiator area when I was pulling it out, The gear on the cam was sitting on the last bearing at this point. I kept turning and joggling the cam trying t pry it free and the gear gouged that bearing. All the others are fine(they only have 3k on them). I just need to swap this cam bearing out so I can finally put this motor back together and fire it up.

well i spoke to the mechanic that fixed my motorlast and he said if its not too bad i could use 400 grit wet sand paper & oil and sand the bearing smooth. I did it and put the old cam in and it spins. Im getting the new cam bearing in sometime soon tho, hopefully someone will come through with advice on how to swap it out easily other wise ill run it as is.

well maybe i should have asked this in the other post -- the scraches you put in it can you feel them with your finger < or only with your nail not looking at it at the time your doing the feel WOW did that come out OK hahahaha

lol I think I understand what you meant. I went ahead and used the sand paper and oil trick and not looking at it you dont really feel any scratches you know. I dont know how it was before I used the sand paper but it was pretty bad towards the edge of the bearing closer to the outside of the block.

then i would use it as is - being the front bearing the cam gear is blocking the oil from just spraying out and lowering the oil pressure - i dont know if you have a flat tappet or roller but a flat tappet would be better with a shakie front bearing but it will work with both good luck -- jz
