				Problems installing trans

Ok so i've been taking my sweet time putting my car back together, i have the clutch/flywheel/bellhousing all up and installed. Tonight me and my buddy were gonna finish everything up (trans, driveshaft, starter, yada yada) But we couldnt get the damn trans to go all the way in, it to about 1/4 of an inch way from being completely in and we cant get it all the way in.
Am i just handicapped? Or should i put the bellhousing on the trans first then bolt it to my engine?

Whatever you do, DON'T DRAW THE TRANS IN WITH THE BOLTS!!!! That is a recipe for failure. If you're certain the clutch was aligned properly, then all you need to do is push in on the clutch fork and the trans should go in the rest of the way very easy. Good luck!!

Pilot bearing/bushing in all the way? Clutch is all aligned with the splines of the input shaft.
I bolted the bell housing on first with mine, then put the trans in and bolted it up.

ah sounds all to familer, i had the same prob when i replaced my T5 twice, it was becuz the engine is on an angle and when you aline the clucth it will be off by a hair, what you do its aline the clucth and try and sit up in the trans tunnel, get as straght as you can, and pull out the clutch alinment tool, make sure you have an even amout of visable ring with the cneter of the clucth you will see what im talking about, then the trans sound slide rite in.
knowing my luck im prob missing a few steps so people chim in.
