in 2004 they played a lot of older stuff, they played obviously creeping death, fade to black, four horseman i think..master of puppets, battery and the likes, they seem to play a lot of songs off of MoP and AJFA and RTL more than anything lately.

Newstead played a portion of Orion in 1992 and completely ****ed that up... altering it to his liking. Its somewhere on YouTube and sounds like ****... listen to that, then listen to when they played Orion 20 years after the release of MOP at Rock Am Ring with Rob and tell me that aint total badassness.

I'll have to check, I think I have the AM Ring show on DVD. That guy has breathed some fresh air into those stagnant guys.

I'm going to get tickets to the show in Newark. Saw the bootleg video of Cyanide on YouTube from the Ozzfest show in Texas and it sounds promising. We'll see in a few weeks.

ok well today metallica released the first single off of the new album, the song is called The Day That Never Comes. i think its really badass..except the lyrics are kinda lame, but it sounds like orion in some parts, and im some other parts it sounds like to Live is to die mixed with Low Mans Lyric, but it is still a pretty damn good song

If the whole album is like that they may win back a lot of fans. Very reminiscent of the old Cliff Burton days but the lyrics reminded me of St. Anger as far as sound quality. Overall I really like it.

the end of the new song is very suicidal tendencies, other than that they sound like metallica again, its pretty sweet.
