Any shops that really know T56's around here?...

Hey everyone,
Having problems with my Clutch/Trans. Any shops around that really know T56's? I had a local shop put the trans & clutch put in a little less than a year ago and there have been problems ever since. I believe all of my problems are being caused by a poor installation & probably a weak trans. Clutch slipping, popping out of gear, clutch noise, etc. Probably need a rebuild & a new clutch. Any suggestions?

popping out of gear usually requires - not only a syncro but the slider and the mainshaft gear as well and they are sold as sets 1 /// 2 - 3 /// 4 that sort of thing - the noise in the clutch my guess when you push up and down standing still motor running and hot the noise is loudest when your foot is off the pedal - ( front nose bearing is bad in trans - worse the countershaft rollers are shot - its a high mileage unit ) and the clutch slipping if you had a gas station type shop do the job then you got a china clutch it only looks the part but it will never do the job and its cheap to buy maybe 1/3 the regular price and it lasts a year instead of 6 years - jz

Paid about $400 for the clutch. It was made by a local shop which makes big rig clutches. They called it a "Stage 2"

The clutch noise I spoke of is a rattling/scraping sound when at idle & a shaking sound when gratually accelerating from a stop. The idle noise goes away when I rev it and is worse when the car is cold.

I'd take it to josh at JSperformance I dont personally have a t-56 but ive driven 2 that he did and the clutches he gets are great. One was near stock and one was over 600hp and both had a nice pedal feel and held the power.
