Gear Install
I need a place to install some 3.73s in my 95 camaro. Anyone have any good places? and maybe quotes on how much I should expect?

Labor is around $300 for a full rebuild of the rear diff. Install kit goes for around $100-$150. Gears $200-$220 fluid $25-$30 for the good stuff.

I reccomend AAM gears from New ERA for $190
Motive master install kit for $90
2 quarts regular GL4 lube as you dont want to use synthetic with an auburn posi $15
Posi additive $10
and labor should be around 3 hours
i dont know what they get to recalibrate your speedo though...

Thank you for clearing that up. So figure like 300 for the gears and stuff, and then another 300 for install?

i would never pay over $500 for everything, talk to JS, he may be able to get you a price for everything parts & labor. Unless you are up north, then I reccomend TTP.
Dont forget to specify what series carrier you have too. Thats important

I don't know what series carrier I have, and I am more central than anything else. So both places are a drive.

Theres always cartek
Series 2 is for 3.08 and numericaly lower ratio
Series 3 is for 3.23 and numeracly higher ratio
If you are going to 3.73 im going to guess that you have an automatic with 2.73's which would be a series 2 carrier, you must order 3.73's for a 2 series which AAM does not make, your next bet would be motive gears

You are a little off on your times there. Unless you are just planning on swapping the gears and not replacing all of the bearings and races in the housing and on the carrier..

I always reccomend replacing all of the bearings while swapping gears. I will do things however you want but remember I can not offer any kind of warranty on a 10 bolt wether it be the complete rebuild or the half assed method. They werent strong enough to handle the power level the car comes stock with let alone something with some grunt..

I was assuming no warranty so no surprise there, however can you make any guarantee against gear whine if the right gears are bought?

I am not sure about what you are calling the "right" gears. All I can guarantee is that the gears will be installed per the manufacturer's specifications. If the gears are noisy there is really not much I can do about it.

In my experience just about every aftermarket gear set makes noise to some extent. There are some brands that usually are quieter than others but I have gotten noisy sets from just about every company, its almost like luck of the draw.

you have a and d rear in brick all they do is rearends it a one man shop i paid 1100 to have my whole rear done with axles, posi , 9" rear ends and some bar and braces to hold it toghter and all the tubes weld and all that good **** i would get gm gears from the dealer that what i got and i have no noise at all
