Scrap prices?

How much is scrap metal going for these days. I called one local scrap yard and they told me they will give me 5 bucks for every 100 pounds for this busted up car that I dont want to fix.(2500 pound car= 125 bucks)

Where can I get a decent price for a running damaged pos.(looking for atleast 200 bucks)

Yea I dont plan on taking any less than 200 bucks. I heard that a few weeks ago I would have gotten 350-450! Honestly if I wasnt so burnted out from working on the camaro id fix the front end on this car and drive it but ehh I want some cash for another camaro.

Jersyboyy get the number to Beacon Scrap, its right in South Amboy. I was there a month(?) ago maybe and light iron was up to $10/per 100 pounds. Just keeping calling and checking what the prices for light iron are. I think it changes quite a bit.

thats normal price, it had gone up to 12 cents per 100lbs for a little but i know it went back down, kleins in hillsborough usually gives round 200-300 for a car, depends if it has rubber on rims

And don't forget to fill the gas tank with water!

or old oil....

I suppose this will work at some places, but most places will make sure the tank is empty before taking a car. Gallons of gas and all those vapors are not exactly something they want sitting around their yard with all the metal that's being tossed around.

Yea beacon said 5/100lbs=125 bucks for my car without weight additions. I figured if i added stuff to the tank or w.e im probally getting an extra...5 bucks if that, plus you need to drive the car onto their lot with the title.
I wish my car drove on water, both ways.

Das is what I plan on doing unless I can find someone who wants to buy the car for 250 and let them fix it up or w.e.
