good dmv inspection stations
im here in brielle (near manasquan and point pleasant for those who dont know this tiny town) and i need to get my 87 t/a inspected, it will pass with no problem except for one thing, i dont have a cat on it, i have shorty headers and a test pipe on it with an exhaust cut out and i just got a small surgery and have to get it inspected soon and would like not to have to re-vamp the exhaust again just to pass inspection.
anyone know of any dmv inspection stations that might not check for a cat.?

better off with a private shop. the emissions will be too high though and you will still fail a tailpipe test.

not to mention that as soon as you start your car up in the inspection bay (dmv) theyre going to bust out the mirror on a stick.

i was actually told by a few people who have gutted cats on these cars that they will still pass....but yeah, thats what im afraid of, the mirror on a stick dealy....and i really dont want to have to rig up a piece of exhaust just to pass emmissions

someone told me the lakewood dmv is pretty lax about checking stuff, cuz with some places they check to see if it has the a.i.r. lines on the exhaust manifold from the original air pump like from the factory, which mine does not have

yeah, i agree that they will all most likely check for a cat, but iwas wondering if anyone knew of a place where the people at the dmv just dont care about their jobs.....scratch that cuz no dmv worker cares about their job, to rephrase, where a dmv worker doesnt care about my car enough to want to look underneath it
