what the hell is going on in football?
Has the NFL turned into the mob or something? Third NFL player shot in 18 months and all three appear to be intentional.

While it is sad, it happens everyday. Since they play for the NFL, the media focuses on it more then if they were your average, every day person.
There are a few factors for it though.
2 out of the 3 happened at night clubs. The jealousy people have for the players, combined with the belief that respect is everything and alcohol, led to someone making a bad decision that affects many people's lives.
Sean Taylor's death was just an extremely tragic case of wrong place wrong time. Granted, it was his home, but if he wasn't injured at the time, he would have been on the road with his team. He was shot in one of the worst places, an artery in the leg. On the surface, a shot to the leg is not considered fatal. But, it hit in one of the worst places.

All too often it seems we are seeing players, young and old, get caught up in an image based lifestyle instead of just living. Maybe it is the number fo "friends" that money brings, maybe it is just not being able to let go of the who and what of youth and grow up, either way, it is another symptom of the fact that so many young people die the way they live.
He got shot 14 times!!! That's not a mistake, that's not random violence, that's a grudge. If his friends don't have the balls to come forward with what's going on, it just shows what kind of friends a bunch of tough guys are. Yes, I know 'snitches get stitches', but that isn't an excuse to let what happens to a friend go unprosecuted.

14 shots, he's lucky to be alive, but yes I totally agree its absolutely ridiculous with how many players have been shot recently.

The shootings are just the end result of all of the other antics professional athletes have been involved in lately.

you also have to look at the fact that athletics in schools is the only way to get inner city youths 'out of trouble' and leads them to be successful in the sport.
you can take the person out of the ghetto but cant the ghetto out of the person. ghettos are ghettos for a reason. we just blame society because people dont take personal responsibility for themselves. the same type of people that destroy their community and blame society

agreed, as professional athletes become more and more, for lack of a better word, "ghetto" you are going to see more and more "ghetto" involved in professional athletics

Whoever wanted him dead definately sucks at aiming Definately sucks tho... not saying this guy was well known or not, but really, its only a matter of time before a very reputable and world-known player gets shot and killed.

OK, besides that...is this the 'year of the injury' ?
Seems all the 'good guys' are getting hurt (and in turn hurting my fantasy leagues)
