Not gonna lie it looks freak'n bad ass! Hell of a lot more bad ass then the Camaro where the base model looks exactly like its top of the line version.

Looks a lot better than the SRT8, but only 600hp out of a v10 is pathetic

As for performance, before Viper got a 100hp bump, id say that the Z06 is clearly the better buy. Now, the Viper has the edge vs the Z06, but not over ZR1.
Overall, Z06 gives you some of the best bang for the buck around.

The Viper has one thing on the Z06, stock for stock, coming out of a corner and rolling, the Viper will pull some yardage on the Corvette in a straight line. From a stop, through corners, slowing for corners, and basically doing anything else that involves movement, the Viper just can't keep up.
You are also absolutely right about the ride. If anyone wants to get the idea of what riding in a viper at speed feels like, jump in your radio flyer wagon and go down the bumpiest hill you can find. That is what a Viper feels like running over a tick-tack at autocross speeds in a small parking lot.
I haven't had the pleasure of driving a Viper yet, but I was a passenger in one at Road America many years ago. It seems to be more a of guess and catch system as it tried to understerr from the weight of the V10 on the way into corners and then snap oversteer as the gobs of torque show the tires who's boss on the way off of corners.

I agree with both of these. Chevy missed the mark in the 'retro' look.....and they coulda pushed a V-10 past 600 easily (Ford doing that with a way smaller V-8 w/ SC).
Pony car title is sitting in the Mustang corner as far as I'm concerned.....and the 'new' body style is still a little hush hush....I'm LOOKING forward to seeing it. The rest - Dodge is running REAL close though (just too bad all their cars and trucks look alike like Pontiac had done).

I'm not totally sold on the Camaro but this statement drives me nuts. Chevy never intended to go full retro like Dodge did with the Challenger.

i think this car and the viper is a testament to the fact that Chrysler still has some competent engineers left. I've heard some people on the car lounge test drive the RT model and say they were "underwhelmed," but its still an attractive piece of machinery! not for me, but they sure are pretty to look at.

That car is friggin sweet. I am surprised that we are seeing a V10 concept before a super charged SRT8 one.

OK, call it "styling cues" from the 1st gen, as there is no 2nd gen or 3rd gen in this new car. The 'styling' is what we all wanted - some older look, with all the comfort and suspension and go fast parts combined with some fun and gas mileage.
What did we get ?
Tune in to the first one to beat one down on the road for details......

for what its worth, the newer vipers are better handling than the older ones...i remember the early 2000's were getting whipped in the slalom and stuff, now theyre a lot closer to the rest of the competitors
