Whens the best time to buy?
In a few months i will be ready to purchase an ls1/t56 car. By ready I mean, I will have a decent down payment for the price range i am looking at. This will be the first car I will have payed for completely by me. Down payment, and loan.
Is December and January a good time to buy a fbody? I'm looking for the best price possible. I already see several nice fbodys under 8 grand.

Did we not just have this conversation this morning about having too many toys? I mean literally less than 8 hours ago you agreed that sticking the firebird in the garage until january or february when it's eligible for QQ tags and driving the saturn was the best thing for you.

If you can't afford to get the Saturn and/or bird fixed, why would you spend so much money on ANOTHER car? I wouldn't think of it. Doesn't make sense for you at all.

The more cars he has the lesser chance that he will get stuck with one that doesn't run./

simple, financial market is in the toilet, it would be a bad move to take a loan out on a 7-11 year old car at any time.
save the loot and buy one, or don't. don't take a loan

Drive the Saturn, enjoy the good gas milage and cheap maintenance. Save the money you would put towards the LS1 for your current project.

The end of summer/fall is often the best time to buy muscle cars. Although for a young guy like you the best time to buy is when you have cash in your hand...car payments are for idiots with 'real' (whatever that means) jobs.
4th gen prices will continue to drop as the 5th gen appears....it happened with all the gens..plus them getting older helps too. So save your $$ and this time next year you will find even better deals.

keep an eye on gas and stuff...my brother got 5 grand off of his vette because gas was going up up and away and dealers were having a really hard time selling guzzlers...i would assume it would be the same with private sellers

Thats what everyone want me to do.
I can honestly do that because i don't really spend money on anything other then fuel..
But the Saturn isn't going to last for ever and the Bird is never going to be a DD. So I need to save up some for a DD, in case of an accident or something else.. I want a ls1 fbody to be my next DD But i also want to finish and enjoy the firebird..
