Need Help BIG TIME: Freeze plug removal

NJ F-Bodies,

I have a 3.4 L V6 Firebird and I need to get the freeze plug beneath my exhaust manifold on the driver side out. I have tried for days on and off to get it out and I am running thin on sanity. All the coolant is already drained and two holes are in the plug from my attempts to remove it. I already broke my oil pressure sensor as well.

I need help. Before I push the car to a mechanic down the road I want to know if anyone is willing to help me get this SOB out. I didn't want to lower the motor to do this since I really don't have the know-how, tools, or garage.

I'm in Woodbridge (central Jersey).

That is the biggest problem. You can reach in from above and touch it, get a wrench or pliers on it if you had something to wrench or grip, but no room to swing a hammer. If you have a small dremel you can drill it.

From below you can reach it with something long and slightly flexible.

The other problem is that it is stuck really tight. Can't get it to budge at all.

Try taking the exhaust manifold off. It will give you the access you need to prevent messing anything up in the process. Just do it the right way and get it done.

I just went out and looked and removing the exhaust manifold would give me minimal clearance gains. The reason I need this done is so I can put a block heater in my car because I'm moving far north. However, I'm considering slopping J-B Weld on the plug and forgetting about it.

EDIT: Alternatively, what would it cost to bring this to someone? Any ideas? I'm assuming a mechanic will drop the motor and do it.

LOL, I'm heading to North Dakota for a year to alleviate homelessness with AmeriCorps. I'll be back soon enough. Well actually in a few weeks for Christmas, haha.
