GMC van starting issues

Theres this late 90's-early 00's GMC work van thats been in our shop for a week now and thats been here before.

It can crank for days and has fuel and spark but will not start?! You name it and its been tested. It will start however if you try around 5 or 6 times but its never consistent.

It has a vortec V8..sorry i dont remember all the details.

Theres alot of intelligent people on this board so I figured I would see if you guys had any idears.

Is that one of the Vortec motors with that fuel spider thingy underneath the intake? I know those go bad all the time.

the spider injectors checked out fine and besides when the truck does start it runs fine...otherwise it would run terrible

Again...if it starts intermittently, the timing chain isn't broken
