Plexico "Cheddar Bob" Burress is done for the year
Giants put him on the "non sports" injury list. So he won't suit up again this season and the team doesn't have to pay him. Unfortunately he gets to keep his signing bonus and won't get punished for all the money he has already cost them.
It will be interesting to see what his agent and lawyer have to say about it since neither of them were present for the evaluation or decision making process.

Makes perfect sense. He was involved in an incident that resulted in injury that was his own damn fault and that had nothing to do with football. Didn't they do the same thing to Rothlesburger when he did the helmetless faceplant into the side of that car a few years ago?

Ya that was probably one of the most stupid ways to lose $27 million. But the Giants will be just fine without him. Hell they could play with the practice squad and beat the eagles this week.............................................. ..................................................

The Giants did a really good job of protecting themselves with Burress' contract. I wish I could remember which article I read that in, but here's something close.

It would also give the team the option to reclaim a portion of the $4.25 million signing bonus he received in September.

Best thing that could have happened to the Giants. He's a distraction like Shockey was so now that he's out of the way they can concentrate better. They have a bunch of good receivers, they don't need him anymore.

According to ESPN his boy is about to testify against him too. bahahahaha
I hope people stop throwing around that whole "make an example of him crap". We have plenty of examples of people who got what they deserved for their transgressions, just give him what is fair like any other citizen and I will be happy. I just want to see athletes and other high profile people treated like everyone else.

Amen to that. We don't need any more examples of what happens when you are a jackass with a firearm.
