George sold/semi parted out the car and got into another business. I haven't seen or heard anything from him in years.

Ok so question for you guys. I have been wanting to put LTs on my car forever but I need to have a cat. Here in Pa we only have a visual but I dont want to be dealing under the table to pass inspection. What do I do if I want a set of Emission capable LT headers but still need a cat?

Would one cat work? I would think it would be to far from the headers to work effectively.

Simple buy Lts w/ air fitting /02's and a Catted Y. if you only have visual then you would need cats.

It really just comes down to where you take the car. You hardly ever hear of a car failing because of longtubes.

The issue is that although most places will put the sticker on the car, if a cop stops you and wants to go over the car and write you up. It's unlikely you would get fined for the headers or cats not in the proper location, but having no cats could get you a ticket.

1994lt1 - there is no such thing as a "legal" longtube header for our cars. To be leagal the header must be C.A.R.B. certified, and since LTs relocate the cats, they will not be certified and legal, even if they have the AIR fittings. The only headers that are C.A.R.B. certified would be shorty headers, Edelbrock and hooker I'm aware of.

That said, if all you need is a visual, as long as you have the cat you should be fine. I'm exempt ( drive under 5K a year) and what I'm running longtubes with the AIR fittings and a Y-pipe with a cat on both sides and I never had an issue. How many people would look under the car and know it originally had one cat, and now it has two or would really care that it has additional emmission equipment.
