Dog farts? Seriously...
Anybody have a remedy for them? I don't know if it's the breed, the food or just the dog but my god she can drive people out of a room.
Btw, 11 month old American bull dog eating dry iams puppy food. If that helps.

Thanks, I'll try it. The problem with dog food is trying to find quality stuff with no ash. My vet strongly recommended iams until about 18 mos for a dog her size. I'll see if purina is any better maybe

my family has two springer spaniels who get stinky. we changed the food and they are still stinky.
plus to top it off my moms dog is allergic to most foods, oak leaves (we believe) and will get skin problems during season changes (imagine he was the pick of the litter too!)
i think we feed them natures choice...... because it doesn't have corn meal in it (makes my moms dog react too)

Boxers are notorious for farting, and all 3 of mine do (2 more so than the 3rd). Considering that boxers and bulldogs are related, you may be in for the long haul. Changing the food may help, but in doing so you'll probably have a better chance at reducing the stinkyness than completely eliminating them. You never know though, so give it shot. I'd try a premium kibble such as Innova EVO, Orijen, Canidae etc., over any mass-marketed brand in supermarkets which are usually loaded with grains and other unnecessary ingredients that can contribute to more waste and more gas.

I feed my dog Royal Canin. They have it for specific dogs breeds as well as for large dogs, etc. My vet says its really good stuff. I cant find it everywhere. Pet Smart has it though.

Dog farts? Really? Consider it training. LOL If you ever plan to have kids one day, look out, especially boys. Farting is a sport to boys from newborn and beyond!
It's a cute pup though! Smelly bastard!

science diet and eukanuba are the only types of dog food my dog(s) eat. i was buying Iams for the two small dogs, but they prefer the eukanuba i give to my golden, so i mix the two for now until i have to buy more. last month i gave the golden a treat and let him try science diet. i got an 8 lb. bag (coupon in the mail for free) and he couldn't wait until i filled his bowl. he's a free-feeder, so he only eats when he is hungry. the other two dogs both have gained weight by changing them over to free-feeding, so when my mother-in-law gets back from costa rica i will yell at her. there are zero problems with any of the dogs and their digestion, so i can recommend either of those two foods. they are about the same price, $40 for a 40 lb bag. science diet should only be bought at a specialty store, though, as it can sit on the shelf (allowing any parasite eggs to hatch) in the big-box discount stores. the specialty stores rotate their stock religiously.
