Header Question

Since my friends gave me back some money i lent them awhile ago, im deciding wether or not to get some headers. I am looking for a really deep pitched sound to add from my flowmasters. It sounds deep as it is but i would like it to sound even meaner, engine wise i got a 5.7L 350. I am a semi noob when it comes cars ( i know a little bit) but i was wondering if your imputs could help me decide which headers to get as i dont know which ones blow and which ones are good.

Thanks

Headers will actually make the exhaust a little higher pitch and snappier in my opinion.

The choices are limited for your car unfortunetly.

For Shorties:
Dyno Don (From TGO)
SLP (stainless)
Macs/Edelbrocks/Hedmans

Longtubes:

Hooker Supercomps

I have a pair of ceramic coated Edelbrock TES headers that I was planning to let go.

Unless you have allot of engine work done just go with the shortly/mid lenght headers. I had the Edelbrock TES headers on the 84Z ( 355 CI motor) and loved them. They work great with a mildly modded engine and are CARB certified. You get a few extra HPs and you won't have any clearance issues.

1) Build it
2) Race it

I had a pair of shorties which gave me excellent tq but they were flowtechs..horrible quality. I now have hooker super comp long tubes with 1 3/4 primary which aren't necessary for basically a stock engine but I have a 400 sbc which will get built for the car that will benefit with the 1 3/4 size. I didn't want to buy headers/y-pipe twice. Plus not to mention ground clearance but the car isn't my DD, so its not really a problem. Unless you have big plans, I'd go for the shorty/mid length.
