can you point me to a source that says it takes place in NJ, I cant seem to find one. wiki doesnt say it takes place in NJ as far as I can tell, unless I'm looking at the wrong page.

only the first one shows any info, but it just says where the first one was filmed. it doesnt say where the newest one supposedly takes place.

saw it last nite...and was very entertained the whole way through...i had heard it was going to be a melting pot of parts 1, 2, and 3...and i can definately agree, thats what is was. key elements from parts 1-3 were observed, without 'remaking' scenes scene for scene... I love the fact that they made this Jason similar to the earlier movies, where he was an agressive, running, hunter, as opposed to a hulking, zombie in the later ones (though both versions are cool)... definately a throw back film that takes you back to the hay-day of horror in the 80s...great to see Jason back on the big screen!

was worth the wait !!! go see it!

does anyone know where in the lake was in the original movie..is that blairstown too? i know there diner form the original is in that area as well...anyone clarify?

was thinking maybe a day trip down there once it warms up..

it's a boy scout camp, that's where BoSco comes in lol
idk about being allowed in on the off season but I know my ex's brother used to go and throw people out every friday 13th. it's private property

yeah i went on there website or somewhere in reguards to visiting based on FT13th and it said to call and ask , because if you did go up there they would just ask you to leave. i want to at least go to the diner that would be a cool little trip

FRIDAY THE 13TH was AWESSSOMMMMMMEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!! Saw it twice already, once on opening night and again last nite and I'm not done yet. I loved it. The movie does take place in New Jersey even though it wasn't filmed here in the Garden State. All of the cars have New Jersey license plates in the movie, even the cop car. Also, in the boat scene, take a look at the boat, the VIN or identification number on the side of the boat starts with the letters NJ. My friend went to Camp Crystal Lake in New Jersey where the movie is based and they have a Jason Hockey Mask there and all information about the original movie. Jason's last name is Voorhees, which is ironically a town in New Jersey. Loved the movie, can't wait to see it again. -Jeff.

Knipps is right, it is Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco in Blairstown, New Jersey. You can call the managers of the camp to visit it during the off-seasons because it is owned by the Boy Scouts and is still functioning. However, if you go there, there is a Jason mask and a sign that says Camp Crystal Lake with information about the movie and the filming of it there.
