back from CR
i will never again go for so short a period of time. i am jet-lagged beyond belief (i never did get accustomed to the time difference). i can't sleep. of course, considering the circumstances, i didn't actually plan this trip. i thought i'd never say it, but i am glad to be back in NJ...
and my dog missed me.

That's what I though, but there would be hardly any jet lag from that flight.

Yes, he's talking about Costa Rica. They are 4 hours behind us.
Glad you made it there and back safely Jim.

well, if you think about it, it was a 4 hour adjustment... 2 hours there and then losing the 2 hours on the way back. not really jet-lag, more of just a serious lack of sleep during the whole 10 days (waking up at 4:00 am everyday). it's not an adjustment easily made by an aging body, so call me a wus if you need to. i'm just getting old.
the trip was by no means a vacation and it proved itself day after day with the myriad of arrangements that needed to be made and then kept. also, since they are catholic, they are keeping the 9 day 'mourning' period, with nightly prayer meetings which repeat the Rosary many times over... of course, i could only recite the Rosary in english, and i still have a poor translation since we Lutherans don't believe in the Blessed Mother as the catholics do. Luther broke away from the catholic church because of the political structure and what he thought to be hypocrisies in their beliefs, so he only brought over what he thought were the true teachings according to the bible (which translation, i have no idea) and what he thought the true path to heaven was. of course, he was labeled many things by the people of his time, including heretic. what we study today is a watered-down version of the religion, anyway, and some of you know what i think about religion as a whole... in any case, i am only doing this out of respect for my father-in-law, who i loved very much and miss dearly.
it's a very small price to pay.

yeah, it would have been rough no matter where it was. he got his last wish in, which was to be buried in Costa Rica, so all is good.
