what to do with my ECM????

I just got a worked 88 firebird, with a tuneport vette motor in it, i want to open up my headers..do i need to do anything with the ECM?

You'll want to get the fuel delivery configuration tuned, preferrably on a dyno with a wideband O2 sensor collecting exhaust data.

Any time you reduce exhaust restriction, you will affect combustion efficiency and need to account for it in your fueling. In your case, you'll run lean and burn a valve and/or piston.

but in reality, the car will run rich fromt he factory, so i wouldnt bother getting a tune for just putting headers on

If you're doing headers but keeping the cat a tune won't be needed. Is it an actual 350 TPI out of a corvette?

You don't need a tune for headers Would he still benefit from getting a tune done? Probably,but him getting headers doesn't force him to get a tune.
