Ok I am splitting hairs here, but your wrong. LS7 lifters are NOT LS1 lifters, they just happen to be the stock replacement now that GM does not make LS1 lifters anymore. I believe they are taller than LS1 lifters and may require a longer pushrod when used in an LS1. Same with LT1s, can you buy a LT1 lifter any more? Nope, order them from GM and you will get LS7 ones.

Guess this explains why you guys have been here a year and both have over 8000 posts. Lets beat everything into the ground. Nobody was going into specifics or talking about LT1's...But yes the lifter plunger depth is different in the two. What I was trying to tell the op is if your going to get new lifters for your Ls1 your going to get LS7's unless you buy them used.

If they are taller wouldnt I need a shorter pushrod? Now would be the time for anyone who actually replaced their lifters with LS7 style to chime in.

Ill refrain from arguing.

I have a adjustable PR checker if your close to 07757, you can borrow it. And you realize the heads need to come off right?

Sure?

What would that help? The lifters cannot fit though the heads.

no i know that, but i remember last time there was arguing about needing a special tool and you can just use a magnet or some ****. i thought you could just do the camshaft spin and pull the lifters out in the retainers after removing the heads, obviously.

Yea, driver head is coming off anyway since there is a broken header bolt all the way in the back. I figured if I have the heads off, I might as well change the lifters...one of them is a little noisy too.

I think I would spend more in gas than I would for the actual adjustable PR checker lol..but thank you
